Today is the winter solstice—a time to reflect, release, and prepare for transformation. It feels fitting that this adventure begins on this day, when the longest night gives way to growing light.
For years, I sensed a quiet voice questioning life's bigger purpose. It challenged me to think bigger—not in a critical way, but as a gentle urge, a push to explore the unfamiliar and embrace something extraordinary. Now, I’m finally answering that call. I have decided to live a life full of intention and purpose. This is my journey toward a life less ordinary.
Four Wheels and a Dream
Leaving my comfortable life in New York to buy a Subaru Outback wasn't impulsive. It was deliberate and thought-out. It was a response to that persistent voice pushing me to explore something different. I needed a vehicle that could be a mobile sanctuary where I could both rest and explore.
I eventually decided on the rugged and dependable Outback as my travel companion. Although I've never named a vehicle before, it felt fitting to give the Outback a name since it would be my trusty companion on the road. And the name I chose? Garuda, the mythical king of birds, a symbol of strength, freedom, and courage. In Hindu mythology, Garuda is Vishnu's mount and a protector and guide for travelers. It was the perfect fit for my new adventure.
The Open Road Beckons
Garuda and I are now embarking on a journey across North America. This road trip isn't just about photography; it's about finding freedom and purpose while working remotely on the road. The opportunity to capture and experience breathtaking landscapes allows me not only to build a solid portfolio, but also to reflect and challenge myself on life's greater purpose and my role in it.
My days aren't just filled with awe-inspiring views. I also work remotely, carefully choreographing my sunrise, sunset, and night photography around my working hours. Some days I work from the cozy confines of Garuda. Other days, I choose the comfort of an Airbnb, chosen not just for convenience, but for its proximity to breathtaking locations. It’s a blend of adventure and practicality, a way to explore the extraordinary while still maintaining a sense of balance and normalcy.
A Rebirth in Nature's Embrace
This isn't just an adventure; it's a rebirth. It's about rediscovering myself and finding purpose by reconnecting with nature in the vastness of the North American wilderness – all while maintaining a semblance of professional normalcy. Just as the solstice marks the gradual return of the sun, this journey is about finding my own light and creating ripples of change in my life, one sunrise at a time.”

My New Normal
The sound of hiking boots on trails, the smell of damp earth and pine needles, and the crisp mountain air filling my lungs—this is my new normal. And capturing an ever-changing landscape is its own reward. My nights are spent under a canopy of stars, a million tiny diamonds scattered across the velvet sky—a celestial spectacle that dwarfs any city skyline. It's a life less ordinary, a life lived fully and intentionally, a life embraced with open arms and an open road ahead—and a surprisingly productive laptop.
Balancing work and adventure takes some planning. I rely on a portable Starlink connection, a flat-packing second monitor, and a strict schedule to balance productivity with creativity. It’s not always easy, but there’s something deeply rewarding about waking up to a sunrise, ready to start fresh in a place that feels like magic.
